# Fee & Pricing

## Fees and Pricing

Paymento has no monthly fee or monthly minimum. Standard fees are charged only when a payment is successfully completed.

The amount charged depends on the wallet method selected for the store.

> Your current rates and account balance are displayed in the Paymento merchant panel. If your account has custom pricing, the rates shown in your panel apply.

### Bring Your Own Wallet fees

Bring Your Own Wallet stores pay:

> **0.5% per successful payment**

Payments arrive directly in the external wallet configured by the merchant. Because no Embedded Wallet settlement is required, there is no settlement network fee.

There is no:

* Monthly subscription
* Embedded Wallet infrastructure fee
* Settlement fee
* Additional Bring Your Own Wallet store fee

Standard blockchain transaction fees paid by the customer or merchant outside Paymento remain the responsibility of the party initiating that transaction.

### Embedded Wallet fees

Embedded Wallet stores pay:

> **0.5% + $0.20 per successful payment**

The percentage is Paymento’s payment-processing fee. The fixed $0.20 covers the secure Embedded Wallet infrastructure used for that payment.

The first Embedded Wallet store is included. Each additional Embedded Wallet store costs **$10 one-time**.

This is a one-time store-creation fee, not a monthly subscription.

### Example payment fees

For a successful payment worth $100:

| Wallet method | Processing fee | Embedded Wallet fee | Total Paymento fee |
| --------------------- | -------------: | ------------------: | -----------------: |
| Bring Your Own Wallet |          $0.50 |                   — |              $0.50 |
| Embedded Wallet       |          $0.50 |               $0.20 |              $0.70 |

Blockchain network fees may apply separately when settling Embedded Wallet funds.

### When fees are charged

Paymento fees are charged from your Paymento account balance rather than deducted from the cryptocurrency received from the customer.

This means:

* The customer sends the requested crypto amount.
* The payment arrives in the merchant-controlled wallet.
* Paymento records the applicable service fee against the merchant’s Paymento balance.

Standard processing fees apply only to successful payments. Failed and expired payments are not charged.

Partial payments, overpayments, refunds, and manually accepted payments may follow their applicable billing rules as shown in the merchant panel or relevant payment documentation.

### Free credit

New Paymento accounts receive **$15 in free credit**.

For Bring Your Own Wallet payments, a $15 credit can cover approximately $3,000 in successful payment volume at the standard 0.5% rate.

For Embedded Wallet payments, the credit covers both:

* The 0.5% processing fee
* The $0.20 Embedded Wallet infrastructure fee

Because the $0.20 fee applies to every successful Embedded Wallet payment, the total payment volume covered by the credit depends on the number and size of payments.

Free credit does not cover:

* Blockchain settlement network fees
* Additional Embedded Wallet store fees
* Charges from external wallets, exchanges, or third-party services

Free credit has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.

### Embedded Wallet settlement fees

Embedded Wallet funds remain in the merchant-controlled store wallet until the merchant authorizes settlement.

Settlement creates one or more blockchain transactions. The relevant blockchain charges network fees for processing those transactions.

Paymento:

1. Estimates the required network cost.
2. Displays the applicable information during settlement.
3. Funds the blockchain transaction where supported.
4. Deducts the actual network cost from the merchant’s Paymento balance.

Settlement network fees:

* Vary by blockchain and network conditions
* Are separate from Paymento’s processing fee
* Are paid to the blockchain network
* Are not covered by free credit
* Are not required for Bring Your Own Wallet stores

You must maintain a sufficient Paymento balance to cover the expected network cost before starting settlement.

See [Embedded Wallet Settlement](/embedded-wallet/settlement.md) for details.

### Paymento account balance

Your Paymento account may display separate balances for deposited funds and promotional credit.

#### Available balance

Your Available balance contains funds you add to Paymento. It may be used to pay:

* Payment-processing fees
* Embedded Wallet infrastructure fees
* Additional Embedded Wallet store fees
* Settlement network fees
* Other enabled paid services

#### Free or reward balance

Your promotional balance contains account credit provided by Paymento.

Eligible Paymento service fees are deducted from this balance before your Available balance where applicable. Promotional credit cannot be withdrawn or used to pay blockchain settlement network fees.

The merchant panel is the current source of truth for your balance, applicable rates, and completed charges.

### What Paymento does not charge

Under standard pricing, Paymento does not charge:

* A monthly fee
* A monthly minimum
* An onboarding fee
* A fee for failed payments
* A fee for expired payments
* An Embedded Wallet fee on Bring Your Own Wallet stores
* A settlement fee on Bring Your Own Wallet stores
* A recurring fee for additional Embedded Wallet stores

Third-party wallet, exchange, on-ramp, blockchain, or integration fees are not Paymento fees and may apply separately.
